Teaching Debut

I had the honour of being asked by my guild, the Victoria Quilters’ Guild, to teach my pattern, Waltz Around the World, at our annual Fall Frolic Workshop, this past Saturday.

I was very fortunate to have four quilts to display for my students, as my pattern tester Mae provided two of hers as samples which added to my two gave a lot of options for my students to consider when choosing their fabrics.

Waltz Around the World…the sequel

Actually I guess I should say the “prequel” because these were the fabrics I originally chose for my latest pattern called Waltz Around the World.


My hubby thought it was too purple and encouraged me to do it in batiks as he thought it would sell more patterns.

Necessity trumps procrastination!

Let me first start by saying I love LONG WEEKENDS!  I also love celebrations where the family gathers and Easter is a significant one for our family.  You can always count on a lamb roast and an array of complimentary veggies to fill the house with amazing smells and our bellies with tasty treats.

In my little corner of the world…

My hubby and I just got back from a walk through the local wooded off leash dog park.  I almost don’t want to mention how warm and beautiful it is here knowing that our fellow Canadians on the eastern side of the country aren’t enjoying the same weather.  It’s a balmy 12.5 degrees C here and last I heard it was minus 17 degrees C in Toronto.
